Battleroar

Biography

Battleroar (2000-present): a Power Metal band from Athens, Greece.

S

tarted in 2000 at Athens, Greece, Battleroar boasted the influences of power metal/epic and classic heavy metal (mostly from the 80s) in the style of Manilla Road, Omen, Cirith Ungol, Brocas Helm, Heavy Load and Jag Panzer (some of whom they'd later perform with).

After a year of rehearsing Battleroar decided to record a promo CD, in November of 2001, containing five tracks of a rehearsal and live, titled simply Battleroar. Under the membership of Vagelis Krouskas (vocals), Kostas Tzortzis (guitar), Manolis Karazeris (guitar), Chris Remoundos (bass) and Nick Papadopoulos (drums). The response encouraged them to do a 7" single titled Dragonship the following year. Some months after this release, two new members joined the band in the form of Marco Concoreggi (vocals) and Kostas Makrikostas (bass) to replace Krouskas and Remoundos respectively.

In March of 2003, they entered the studio for their self-titled full-length album. Kenny Powell (of Omen) contributed with his participation on one of the songs. Kostas Makrikostas would take over bass. In August of that year 'Omicron Music' released the album. Age of Chaos (2005), To Death and Beyond... (2008) would follow.
