GeezerBIOGRAPHYGeezer (1995-2006): a Heavy Metal band from Houston, Texas, USA. L ed by Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler (Real Name: Terence Michael Joseph "Geezer" Butler (born 17 July 1949 - Birmingham, UK)), Geezer (or g//z/r, as it appeared on the first album), along with Burton C. Bell (of Fear Factory; vocals), Pedro Howse (guitar) and Deen Castronovo (ex-Wild Dogs/ex-Ozzy Osbourne; drums) would produce more than just re-hashed Black Sabbath nor re-hashed fads of the past or present, but a definite 90's metal style suitable for the time. Plastic Planet arrived in 1995, with Black Science following in 1997 without Bell, who left to deal with his Fear Factory project entirely, to be replaced by Clark Brown. Since Black Science, Butler was also involved with the various Black Sabbath reunions. As GZR, they would continue on to release Ohmwork (2005). Butler would go on to become the bassist for Deadland Ritual. Footnote: The band originally started out with an aborted attempt under the name The Geezer Butler Band with Pedro Howse from 1984-1988 during a brief departure from Black Sabbath during that period. Footnote: Butler received the nickname "Geezer" at approximately age eight, because he "used to call everybody Geezer" at school.
