ChaliceBIOGRAPHYChalice (1996-2007): a Doom Metal band from Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. T his band was first formed under the name Jeneaha by voclaist and keyboardist Shiralee Morgan and drummer Adrian Bickle in late 1996. After the recording of a demo, Jeneaha split; the act was reduced to just the pair again, who changed the band name to Chalice to debut with Chronicles of Dysphoria (2000) under the membership of Morgan and Bickle along with Mark Bodossian (bass) and Sean Graetz (guitars). This album has a bit of a history as it happens. It was originally recorded as a demo then re-released as a full-length album upon signing to 'Modern Invasion' which also saw Darren McLennan (guitars) and Russel Fawcus (violin). After the debut album, Chalice would have a another line-up change with the addition of Justin Hartwig added on guitars (rhythm)/guitars (acoustic)/mandolin and Alana Probert on flute for the sophomore effort, Augmented (2003), with Simon Henderson on bass. The Calm That Was the Storm EP (2006) would arrive next featuring Matt Enright on drums with guest musicians, Adelaide's Zephyr Quartet before parting ways with Probert ahead of its release. After almost a year of virtual inactivity, Chalice disbanded acrimoniously in June 2007, with the majority of the group announcing it had split from Morgan to form a new group called Black Orchid.
