here have been many bands like Crysys over the years; a band who scrapes together enough money for a self-financed, low-budget album that usually doesn't get much attention outside their hometown, only to then disappear. Though they weren't British, Crysys had a sound very similar to the NWOBHM bands of that time. And while not revolutionary, Hard as Rock, their 1981 debut, under the membership of Stefan King (vocals/percussion), Tim Kasey (guitars/vocals (backing)), Cary Ray (bass/vocals (backing)) and Gene Kasey (drums/vocals (backing)/percussion), was a competent album for the time. The band then went into obscurity before returning again in 1991 with an EP entitled Crysys Strikes under the reformed membership of Kasey now with Seth Goldstein (guitars), Ken Nelson (vocals) and Ryan Allred (bass). The act dissolved almost immediately after.
