GradeBIOGRAPHYGrade (1993-2002, 2010-present): a Punk band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. M elodic hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada Grade formed in 1993. The act is often credited as one of the originators of the so-called 'screamo' style and pioneers in blending metallic hardcore with the melody of emo as well as the alternating screaming/singing style that would later become popular. Originally inspired by the hardcore styles of Integrity and Chokehold, by 1995, however, Indian Summer and Rye Coalition influenced their style for which they'd become known. And Such Is Progress (1995) and Separate The Magnets (1997) would launch their repertoire. In 1999, Grade signed to 'Victory Records' to release Under the Radar, the album for which they'd become best-known. That album spawned two singles, the videos for which received some play on MTV2 in 1999 and 2000 respectively. The Embarrassing Beginning followed in 2000, but after the release of Headfirst Straight to Hell the following year, the act split. Several attempted reformations would occur until a more stable relationship in 2010 that saw them touring again.
