Macabre

ult figures in the Chicago metal scene for a number of years, Macabre is self-described as "Murder Metallists" with a style that's unique. They pair death metal and thrash metal with old-school heavy metal riffs and an odd penchant for nursery rhyme sing-song choruses. They would debut in 1987 with the Grim Reality under the line-up of Nefarious (Real Name: Charles Lescewicz; bass/vocals), Dennis the Menace (Real Name: Dennis Ritchie; drums/vocals (backing)) and Corporate Death (Real Name: Lance Lencioni; guitars/vocals).

After the second effort, Gloom, in 1989, another EP in the form of Nightstalker followed in 1993. The remainder of the discography thus far would include Behind the Wall of Sleep (EP; 1994), Unabomber (EP; 1999), Dahmer (2000), Morbid Campfire Songs (EP; 2002), Murder Metal (2003), Human Monsters EP (2010), Grim Scary Tales (2011) and Carnival of Killers (2020).
