Sacrilege

n 80s act from the UK, Sacrilege was founded in 1984 and led by vocalist Tam Simpson, at a time where female extreme heavy metal vocalists were a rarity. Their first two albums are more in the raw death metal/thrash metal style, those albums being Behind the Realms of Madness (1985) with Tam (Real Name: Lynda Simpson; vocals), Damian (Real Name: Damian Thompson; guitars), Tony (Real Name: Tony May; bass) and Andy (Real Name: Andy Baker; drums), and Within the Prophecy (1987) sans Tony.

By the time of their third album, Turn Back Trilobite (1989), with Frank Healy on bass, and Spikey T. Smith on drums, they'd transitioned to a slow, doomy style.

The act would split in 1990, but reform in 2014 for only one year before splitting for good.
