Manetheren

Biography

Manetheren (2003-present): a Black Metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

T

he band Manetheren got its name form the book series called The Wheel Of Time. In 2003 after Lord Azlum (Real Name: Gabe Jorgenson) broke up with Autumn Decay, he formed Manetheren with two of his previous band mates Andy and Pete. After a while the line up became an issue so they all went separate ways, then near 2004 Lord Azlum decided he wanted to try it again, and asked Grudlevitek (bass; of-Autumn Decay) to also join him. This didn't work out but by March of 2004 Jackson Blackburn would join on bass. This line-up lasted to release The Seven Realms of Manetheren, upon signing to 'Dark Forest Productions'.

Months pass with no sales, due to lack of record label exposure. Then around August 2004 after an offer from 'Graveyard Records 666' (AUS) to press 1000 copies of the next album, Azlum went solo to release The Absence of Light. With a whole new feel and sound, the album featured seven tracks of 70+ minutes of depressive misanthropic black metal.

Esoterica (Real Name: Alexander Poole) would join on vocals for Solitary Remnants (2008). Thorns (Real Name: Gionata Potenti) would assume drums from Time (2012), where-as The End (2017) saw the membership swell to include E.B. (Real Name: Eric Baker; vocals) and Davide Gorrini (bass).
