aw and primitive thrash was the hallmark of Destructor, especially on their debut Smash Your Skulls with Power (1984). Strangely, this band would release a live album before ever completing a studio one in the form of Overdosed at WRUW before Maximum Destruction would appear also in 1985 under the line-up of Dave Overkill (Real Name: David Just; vocals/guitar), Pat Rabid (Real Name: Patrick Wolowiecki; guitar/backing vocals), Dave Holocaust (Real Name: Dave Iannicca; bass) and Matt Flammable (Real Name: Matt Schindelar; drums). The album was re-released by 'Listenable' in 1999 after the band had released a number of demos. By the time the Sonic Bullet EP was released in 2003, Jamie Boulder took over the bass spot. Storm of Steel EP followed in 2007 with Forever in Leather coming later that same year.
The band had finally caught their stride for a solid set of albums would follow in the form of Live Cleveland 1985 (live; 2011), Cleveland Was MADE for Metal!!! (live; 2012), Back in Bondage (2016) and Decibel Casualties (2017).
By 2017 the membership had changed, however, to include Nick Annihilator (Real Name: Nick Giannakos; Guitars) and Tim Hammer (Real Name: Tim Frederick; Bass) with Schindelar returning to re-take his drum stool from Chris Combustable (Real Name: Chris Dora).
Sadly, this band has suffered two deaths during its tenure, first with Iannicca being stabbed to death on January 1, 1988 by Robert Bedzyk, then Eric Burris who briefly held the drum role in 1992 before he committed suicide after killing his wife.
The bass role has also been one of contention with it being held bySam "Sinner" Lopiccolo, Tim Greene, Don Depew (1984), Paul Warhead (Real Name: Paul Habat; 1984-1985), Brook Damage (Real Name: Brook Hodges; 1988-1990), Eric Exterminator (Real Name: Eric Reineke; 1999-2001), Dennis Fuldauer (1999), Jamie Boulder (Real Name: Jameson Walters; 2002-2012) and Ed E. Kaos (Real Name: Ed Stephens; 2012-2014).
