Year Zero (1992-1995) is a Death Metal band from Liverpool, UK.
ear Zero would play a type of doomy and gritty death metal, somewhat like Cathedral and Blackstar, but not as atmospheric. Their songs came across as satisfactory but often lacked individuality leaving critics to complain that they came across as "lifeless". Probably their only noteworthy event was the presence of Mark Griffiths on guitar, who would later go on to bigger and better things (specifically Cathedral and Blackstar). Featuring the aforementioned Griffiths, along with Russ McAteer (vocals), Murray Geddes (bass), Mike Unsworth (drums) they would release Nihil's Flame (1993) and Creation (1995), along with a couple of demos, before they disappeared; assumed missing in action.
