Scott Weiland (1967-2015): a Musician from San Jose, California, USA.

cott Richard Weiland Kline (October 27, 1967 - December 3, 2015) was an American musician, singer and songwriter. During his 30 some-odd year career, he became best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots (1989-2002, 2008-2013), to record six albums with them. He was also lead vocalist of supergroup Velvet Revolver (2003-2008), recording two albums, and recorded one album with supergroup, Art of Anarchy. Weiland established himself as a solo artist as well and collaborated with several other musicians throughout his career.

Weiland was known for his flamboyant and chaotic onstage persona and also for constantly changing his appearance and vocal style, his use of a megaphone in concerts for vocal effect, and for his battles with substance abuse. Weiland was ranked in the Top 100 heavy metal vocalists by Hit Parader Magazine (No. 57).

As a soloist he would release 12 Bar Blues (1998), "Happy" in Galoshes (2008) and Blaster (2015, with the Wildabouts).

In 2012, Weiland formed the backing band the Wildabouts. It was during this period that his health issues became noticeable and in December 2015, he died of an accidental drug overdose on his tour bus in Minnesota at the age of 48.
