ounded by ex-Agent Steel/ex-Abattoir (USA) guitarist Juan Garcia with fellow ex-Abattoir (USA) member Mel Sanchez (bass), along with new member Mark Caro (guitars), Evildead would play old-school classic thrash metal. After recruiting Phil Flores (vocals), Albert Gonzales (guitar) and Bob Ailinz (drums; ex-Necrophilia) the act would sign to the German 'Steamhammer' label to debut in 1989 with the Rise Above EP. Their sound, however, was already becoming light in comparison to the death metal and black metal bands arriving on the scene by the time it was released. The dated sound was most definitely profound by the time the follow-up, Annihilation Of Civilization (1989), was released.
Evildead's next set, The Underworld (1991), saw a new line-up emerge with Garcia and Phil Flores hanging around to recruit Dan Flores (guitar), Karlos Medina (bass) and Doug "The Claw" Clawson (drums). The live From The Depths Of The Underworld (1992) would see Eddie Livingston (R.I.P. 2018) on drums, however. These last efforts were not enough, and the act split in 1995. Garcia would return in the reformed Agent Steel with bassist Karlos Medina.
The reformation of 2008-2012 featuring the core membership, along with Steve Nelson (vocals) and Alaniz on drums, resulted in a the single Blasphemy Divine (2012). The band would split again to reform in 2016 with the original line-up, plus Medina back on bass.
