Wild Dogs

t was vocalist Matt McCourt and drummer Deen Castronovo who formed Wild Dogs. The pair were previously in another project titled Dr. Mastermind, a band that had released albums on "'80's Metal" style label 'Shrapnel Records', not to mention Castronovo's long resume otherwise (Geezer and Ozzy Osbourne).

Their debut as Wild Dogs, also on 'Shrapnel' would come in 1983 with a self-titled album and the added members of Jeff Mark (guitar), Matthew McCourt (vocals/bass) and Danny Kurth (bass), to follow it up with Man's Best Friend (1984) and Reign of Terror (1987) with Rick Bartell replacing Kurth) and Michael Furlong taking vocals.

The band lost interest shortly later but was resurrected in 1998 by McCourt who recruited Michael Brown (guitar) and Pete Laufmann (drums). Better Late than Never compilation followed in 2000 featuring various tracks recorded between 1990 and 1998.

For Down and Dirty (2004) and The Ring of Blood (2006), the membership featured Matt McCourt (vocals/bass), Bryce van Patten (drums), Michael Brown (guitars) and Kurt James (guitars). Dave Hathaway would assume drums for Born to Rock Forever (2015).
