London (1980-1991): a Hard Rock band from Hollywood, California, USA.

ard rock band London would remain a relatively unknown entity in history but during their time they proved to be the breeding ground for musicians getting their start in other more known bands. In 1980, the original line-up featured Nadir D'Priest (vocals), Lizzy Gray (guitar), along with future stars Nikki Sixx on bass, Bobby Marks on keyboards and Steven Adler (drums) as well as Slash at live gigs. This line-up would be featured on the cult classic documentary film The Decline Of Western Civilization Part II - The Metal Years. At the time these people were unknown, but Sixx would leave to become a member of Motley Crue shortly after, to be replaced by one Blackie Lawless who in turn would leave to form his own W.A.S.P. organization to be replaced more long-term by Brian West, while Fred Coury stepped in to replace Steven Adler, and Slash would go off to join Guns N' Roses. All of this shifting had occurred before their debut 1985 album, Non-Stop Rock, was released.

The second album, Don't Cry Wolf (1987), saw another star develop in the form of Wailin' Jay Morgan replacing Coury who had left to join Cinderella. After sometime D'Priest got the attention of 'Noise' executives at a seminar in Los Angeles, then proceeded to recruit a whole new line-up featuring Sean Lewis to replace Gray on guitar, Alan Krigger (ex-Giuffra; drums) to replace temporary member Tim Yasui who in turn had replaced Morgan, and Vince Gilbert on keyboards. London finally got to make a name for themselves with their bad attitude rock on Playa Del Rock in 1990. The disc got rave reviews, especially for the ballad Miss You. London had finally paid their dues in the music world and had now started to get recognition but they surprisingly up and quit very suddenly, most likely fed up that their membership dues were so high.
