Dying BreedBiographyDying Breed (1994-present): a Metalcore band from Hermosa Beach, California, USA. K ind of infamous, Dying Breed got loads of independent and college radio play with their 1996 Hatefuck demo under the membership of Andrew Prietto (bass), Pat Johnson (guitars//guitars (acoustic)/vocals), Bill Johnson (samples), Aaron Snow (drums) and Todd Durrett (guitars). Hatefuck was not their first release, however. Dying Breed made their impact on the DIY metal scene in 1994 with 2000 units of Repressed But Not Extinct hitting the streets featuring Andrew Prietto also taking up acoustic guitars as well as bass, and new member Todd Durrett (guitars); Bill Johnson would not be featured. Dying Breed would later jump on the Japanamation sensation of the 1990s with the completion of five such promotional film trailers which debuted at at Jack Coshik's 1998/99 Milwaukee Metalfest. Bill Johnson (samples) would be back, with Todd Durrett now gone for the act's second full studio release, Fleshflower (2000) on the 'Bloodfart' label. Dying Breed would receive regular requests for interviews and played with many of the industry leaders in their musical style, including Six Feet Under, Fear Factory, Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse. Their premier release was re-issued by 'Relapse Records' as a limited edition gargoyle shaped package, but despite all of this media coverage they failed to secure a permanent record deal. Since 2000 the act has failed to record anything new and are considered defunct. Dashboard for Dying Breed
