Voracious Gangrene

Biography

Voracious Gangrene (1998-present): a Death Metal band from Bordeaux, France.

J

essy Pérey and Patrick Lesage, guitarists in the band Morbid Infection, decided to branch out on their own and recruited the services of ex-Neurasthenia drummer Stef Guilhemjouan. Stéphane Morillon would soon after take over the vocals when his former outfit Disabled packed it in. Alain later joined to take up bass and complete their line-up. Influenced by the likes of Cryptopsy, Dying Fetus, Deranged and Cannibal Corpse, they began to record under the name Voracious Gangrene.

It wasn't until June 1999 that they first played live. This was at a gig in Bordeaux, France. From 9 to 13 August of that same year they recorded their debut 5 track EP, Hooked To Death. Promo Tape 1999 followed.

The beginning of 2000 would see their first member change with Benoit Claus replacing Alain, who had to leave for personal reasons. Jessy would also soon leave to be replaced by Manu for Promo 2002 (2002); yup, all their recordings never made it past demo status and the band broke up soon after.
