Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit (1994-2006 2009-present): a Nu-Metal band from Jacksonville, Florida, USA.

imp Bizkit was founded by Fred Durst (vocals), Wes Borland (guitar), Sam Rivers (bass), John Otto (drums) and DJ Leathal (Real Name: Leor DiMant; ex-House Of Pain; turntables). Drawing comparisons to style-mates Korn and Rage Against The Machine they thrust their funk/Rap/heavy metal merger into the confusion that was music of the 1990s with reasonably popular results. The goatee wearing fivesome would release their debut with 'Interscope' in 1997 titled Three Dollar Bill Y'all$ getting a 22 in the US.

Not happy with their progression, Durst would moonlight as a guest for Korn, Soulfly and Cold on their early 1998 sets. He would then invite his friends from Korn, Stone Temple Pilots, Primus (and other lists of stars) to work with him on his act's next album effort (the most noted being Method Man from Wu-Tang Clan on the second track N 2 Gether Now), so it was no surprise that the follow-up album Significant Other (1999) was a raving success getting 26 in the UK but a full 1 in the US with big help from MTV who was jumping onto the Hardcore-Metal/rap movement. Their next success would be Take A Look Around, a single that became the theme to the MI:2 movie. Despite Napster later claiming, as it was being shut down in court for copyright infringement a year later, that it had no money they somehow managed to gather $2 million to make a legit deal with Limp Bizkit for use of their music that same year. In 2000 their Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water made #1 on both sides of the "pond" due mostly to the success of Rollin'. Fred Durst teamed up with Aaron Lewis of Stand to have a US hit single outside of the act titled Outside in 2001.

When Borland left later in 2001, Durst, Rivers, Otto and Lethal continued to record and tour with guitarist Mike Smith; but the recording sessions with him were aborted. The resulting album Results May Vary (2003) was assembled by combining songs from different sessions.

In 2009, Limp Bizkit reunited with Borland playing guitar and launched the Unicorns N' Rainbows Tour. Gold Cobra (2011) would arrive a couple of years later.

Due to mounting tensions and following a dispute between Durst and bandmates Lethal and Otto about the latter two's alleged chronic drug and alcohol use, DJ Lethal resigned from the band with animosity.

Stampede of the disco Elephants would be the next recording (TBA).
