Biography

Cryhavoc (1998-2006): a Heavy Metal band from Helsinki, Finland.

O

riginally starting in 1992 as Preprophecy but when the drummer and bassist left and replaced with members from Absurdus where they then changed to the name Ravensfall, but when Absurdus received label attention and members departed, the band name was changed to Cryhavoc; the previous two incarnations only releasing demos.

Finally, in 1998 Sweetbriers would arrive with the membership of Paul Tolvanen (drums), Jouni Lilja (guitars), Kari Myöhänen (bass), Kaapro Ikonen (R.I.P. 2016; vocals) and Risto "Raven" Lipponen (guitars/piano).

After the split effort, Children of Bodom (1998) with Children of Bodom and Wizzard, Cryhavoc would follow-up with Pitch-Black Blues (1999) now featuring Risto Raven (Real Name: Risto Lipponen; taking guitars/vocals (choirs)) and Pauli O. Tolvanen (drums). The band split in 2006.
