Biography

Rapture (1997-present): a Death Metal band from Helsinki, Finland.

O

pening shop in 1997, Finland's Rapture would open with the Broken Daydream demo (1998) under the membership of Tomi Ullgrén (guitars), Petri Eskelinen (vocals), Jani Ã-hman (bass), Samu Ruotsalainen (drums), Sami Karttunen (keyboards) and Samu Ruotsalainen (drums) before releasing Futile (1999).

For the follow-up, Songs for the Withering (2002), Aleksi Ahokas took bass and rhythm guitar, while Henri Villberg assumed vocals (harsh) and lyrics (tracks 2, 4, 6). Sami Hinkka took bass for Silent Stage (2005).

In 2007 Iain Huntley (bass) and Pete Raatikainen (drums) stepped in, while Kimmo Tukiainen assumed guitars in 2008, after which the band went on an indefinite hiatus.
