RekuiemBiographyRekuiem (1979-1984, 2001-present): a NWOBHM band from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK. O riginally forming in 1979 under the name Requiem (not to be confused with the post-Savage 79 NWOBHM band Requiem from London, who released a 2-song single in May 1980) to also release a single in 1980 then split in 1984 with the membership of Gordon Denny (bass), Karl Wilcox (drums), Steve Slater (guitars) and Mike Reid (vocals). Avoiding name conflicts from bands taking their former name in the passing decades, the band reformed as Rekuiem under the line-up of Denny, Slater and Wilcox, with new member Paul Parry taking vocals to release the The Black Death EP (2002) with the debut full album finally appearing in the form of Time Will Tell (2006). Over the years, their music drifted from NWOBHM to plain Heavy Metal and Doom Metal. Parry left not long after the release of the debut full-length album.Chity Somapala joined the band for a while starting in 2007 as a replacement frontman. Initially considered a guest musician, the band later stated that he would feature on their second album. Somapala made a few more live appearances with Rekuiem over the next few years before the band eventually quietly faded out.
