Megaton

Biography/History

Megaton (1980-1981, 2011-2013): a NWOBHM band from London, UK.

B

oasting a false start in 1980 until 1981 when founder Ross Torlak (guitars/vocals) temporarily moved to the US, Megaton would restart in 2011 to feature Mick Tucker (drums (track 11)), Shawn Bossick (bass/keyboards/vocals), Mike Leasure (drums) and Jeremy Nagle (guitars (lead)/vocals) on their debut Returning with Vengeance in 2011. By the time the album was released, however, Mike Leasure had taken the rest of the drum duties because of Tucker's departure and subsequent death in 2002 from Leukemia; he was best known for his drum duties in the band Sweet. The rest of the band was split when Torlak died of cancer in 2013.
