AdriftBiographyAdrift (2002-present): a Heavy Metal band from Tampa, Florida, USA. F ormed in 2002 by then Cannibal Corpse guitarist Jack Owen as a side project, it was a rather bold move, a death metal veteran proclaiming his desire to play a more popular style of heavy metal and eventually made it a full time project. After the self-titled EP (2006), the debut, Absolution (2007) also was completely removed from anything resembling death metal, instead forging a hard-edged, yet melodic and accessible sound. The style is most attributable to Dean Pskowski on vocals performing radio friendly vocals. Owen's guitar playing doesn't take a second seat, however, but is completely different than his past. After the release that also featured Jen Parker (bass) and Kevin Astl (drums), Owen joined Deicide (and later went to Six Feet Under), which likely signals the end of Adrift. Dashboard for Adrift
