LegendBiographyLegend (1980-1984, 2002-present): a NWOBHM band from St. Helier, Jersey. T his band is one of the few for the set of islands known as Jersey. Where is Jersey? It is an island and self-governing Crown Dependency near the coast of north-west France. It is the largest of the English Channel Islands and is 22 kilometres (14 mi) from the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy. It consists of the main island of Jersey and some surrounding uninhabited islands and rocks. Jersey is a self-governing parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarchy, with its own financial, legal and judicial systems, and the power of self-determination. Although Jersey is not part of the United Kingdom, the UK is responsible for its defense. OK enough of the geography lesson. Legend is a part of the British NWOBHM movement nonetheless to release Legend (1981), Death in the Nursery (1982), Limited Editon Four Track Single EP (1982),Still Screaming (2003) and The Dark Place (2013), along with several compilations. Originally split-up in May, 1984, they reformed in March, 2002 but their status now is unknown. The earliest line-ups consisted of Peter Haworth (guitars; who returned in 2002; R.I.P. 2020), Mike Lezala (vocals; returned in 2002), Eggy Aubert (bass; joined in 1981 and stayed only a year but returned in 2002), Neil Haworth (bass; replaced Aubert but left in 2004 to return in 2011), as well as David Whitley (drums; 1980-1984) and Marco Morosino (guitars (1980-1982). drummer Dave Diggle and guitarist Sean Gregory both also joined in 2002, the latter leaving in 2011. Footnote: Do not confuse this band with the one of the same name from Kent, UK that released only a compilation called A.D. 1980 in 1982. Dashboard for Legend
