Flyleaf (2002-2016): a Hard Rock band from Bell County, Texas, USA.


merican rock band Flyleaf formed in Bell County, Texas, in 2002. The band has charted on mainstream rock, Christian pop and Christian metal genres. They performed around the United States in 2003 under the membership of James Culpepper (drums), Sameer Bhattacharya (lead guitar/backing vocals), Jared Hartmann (rhythm guitar), Pat Seals (bass/backing vocals) and Lacey Sturm (vocals) before releasing their eponymous debut, Flyleaf (2005). The album went platinum after selling more than one million copies and featured guest stars Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction and Ryan White of Resident Hero.

Their second album, Memento Mori (2009), debuted and peaked at 8 on the Billboard charts. Flyleaf's third album New Horizons (2012) followed. Shortly before the album's release, lead vocalist Lacey Sturm announced her departure; Kristen May became the new vocalist for Between the Stars (2014), but would depart in 2016 shortly before the act split to go on what they referred to as a "hiatus".
