Return (1980-present): a Rock band from Stange, Hedmark, Norway.
orwegian rock band Return is from Stange, HEDMark, Norway. The band started in 1980, and was in its prime during the late 1980s and early 1990s whereby they boasted several singles on the Norwegian hit charts and were among the bestselling bands in the country. In 1993 they took a break, but returned in 2001 to release a new album in 2005.
This band has had a remarkably stable line-up and, musically, has undergone very little change over their life span featuring typical 1980s rock, centering on power ballads. Their market has traditionally been isolated to Norway and Switzerland.
The act features Knut Erik Østgård (vocals/guitar), Steinar Hagen (guitar/chorus), Tore Larsen (bass/chorus) and Øyvind Håkonsen (drums) as its sole membership to release To the Top (1987), Attitudes (1988), Straight Down the Line (1989), Fourplay (1991), V (1992) and Return (2005). The compilation and live album discography would contain Replay (1991), Return (Best of...) (2000), Best of...both worlds (2008), and the live set Return (2000).
