Biography/History

Archaic Icon (1999-2017): a Death Metal band from Bordeaux, Aquitaine, France.

F

ormed in Bordeaux, France in 1999 Archaic Icon was started by Christophe Marty (guitar) and Laurent Fortier (drums) with Raph Ferbos (bass/vocals) joining shortly later and taking over the bass roll also when a suitable person wasn't found. Influenced by Disgorge, Dying Fetus, Origin and Deeds of Flesh they pressed on as a three piece at shows until 2003 when Jeremy Robert, mutual friend of the group, took over the second guitar slot for the release of their debut 5 track demo called Models Of Irony (2004) complete with multimedia video portion and their performances with Voracious Gangrene, Vader and Yattering. The membership shifted around and there was a hiatus at some point early in the change of the century but no further recordings came and the act officially closed up shop in 2017.
