Black Veil Brides (2006-present): a Glam Metal band from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

lthough now located out of Hollywood, California, USA, glam metal act Black Veil Brides was formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006 by Andy Biersack (vocals/keyboards), Johnny Herold (guitar) and Phil Cennedella (bass/backing vocals). Their tenure in Ohio didn't last long, for Biersack quickly relocated to Los Angeles and in early 2009, he formed a new band under the same name with the revised line-up consisting of himself with Chris Hollywood (guitar) and Sandra Alvarenga (drums), who were soon joined by Ashley Purdy (bass) and Pan the Gypsy (guitar) to sign with independent label 'StandBy Records'.

2006 & 7 were busy years for the membership by featuring Chris Riesenberg (drums (2006)), Kevin Harris (keyboards (2006-2007)), Nate Shipp (guitars/backing vocals (2006-2007)), Robert Thomas (bass (2007-2008)) and Mike Stamper (drums (2006-2009)).

By 2010, Hollywood and Pan the Gypsy had also left and were replaced by Jinxx (Real Name: Jeremy Miles Ferguson; rhythm guitar/violin/backing vocals) and Jake Pitts (guitar). Later in 2010, Alvarenga would also leave; Christian "CC" Coma would assume the drum stool.

Purdy, who later left in 2019 to be replaced by Lonny Eagleton, explained the meaning of the band name "Black Veil Brides", "Black Veil Brides is a Roman Catholic term used for when a woman marries into the church and gives up all the pleasures of life to devote her life to God. She is then deemed a Black Veil Bride."

With the line-up resolved, Black Veil Brides could finally release some albums in the form of We Stitch These Wounds (2010), Set the World on Fire (2011), Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones (2013), Black Veil Brides (2014), Vale (2018) and The Phantom Tomorrow (2021).

Their third single from Set the World on Fire, Rebel Love Song, had a music video directed by Patrick Fogarty accompanying it. The video was released on YouTube on October 19 of that year. On October 25, the band announced that they had to cancel tour dates for "certain reasons". It was later announced that it was because Biersack had broken his nose on the drum set rising platform during a performance. Despite the injury, he was determined to finish the show. Doctor's orders said he was to sit back for a few weeks heal there-after.

The lead single from Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones, In the End, was featured as one of the theme songs for WWE's Hell in a Cell. The band would embark on the The Church of the Wild Ones North American Tour in support of the album as well.
