Avenger (1983-1986): a Speed Metal band from Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

B

efore changing their name to Rage, Avenger would feature Peter "Peavy" Wagner (vocals/bass/guitars (acoustic)), Jochen Schröder (guitars), Alf Meyerratken (guitars/vocals (backing)) and Jörg Michael (drums) when they published their debut Prayers of Steel (1985). For the follow-up EP, Depraved to Black (1985), Thomas Grüning took over the second guitar slot.
