Necronomicon

Biography/History

Necronomicon (1988-present): a Death Metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

N

amed after fictional book appearing in stories written by horror novelist H. P. Lovecraft, Necronomicon would open shop with their Morbid Ritual demo in 1992 under the membership Rob Tremblay (vocals/guitars), Jay Tremblay (bass) and Dominic Bilodeau (drums) but by the follow up, The Silver Key EP (1996), only Rob Tremblay remained with new members Catherine Leblanc (bass/vocals (female)) and Christian Savoie (drums). For the next album, Pharaoh of Gods (1999), Jean-Francois Boucher assumed drums.

The Sacred Medicines (2003) saw the drums and bass spots change again with Éric "Rick" Bastien and Dominik Gagné taking them respectively. The Return of the Witch (2010) saw Diego Rodriguez take over on bass.

By the time Rise of the Elder Ones was released in 2013, Armaros assumed the highly volatile bass position. Advent of the Human God (2016) would follow in time to once again see that bass chair took over by someone new, this time in the form of Eric "Mars" Marsan (bass). Unus saw everyone but Rob Tremblay gone and new member Divider (Real Name: Jean-Philippe Bouchard) on drums while Tremblay added bass to his repertoire.
