DetenteBiography/HistoryDetente (1984-1989, 2007-2010): a Thrash Metal band from Los Angeles, California, USA. T he band Detente was a punk influenced politically charged thrash band who released Recognize No Authority in 1986, after an appearance on the Metal Massacre VII compilation earlier that year, with the membership of Dawn Crosby (vocals), Ross Robinson (guitar), Caleb Quinn (guitars), Steve Hochheiser (bass) and Dennis Butler (drums). But personal problems between the members, centering mostly around Crosby, caused the break up of the group in 1989. The act would morph into Crosby's next act, Fear Of God. In 2007 A new version of the band tried to re-kindle the act, initially featuring Hellion vocalist Ann Boleyn and Fear Of God guitarist Michael Carlino joining Butler, Quinn and Hochheiser but this line-up didn't last to the recording of Decline (2010) whereby Tiina Teal had assumed vocals and Carlino was not replaced. A split compilation shared with Catalepsy had also been released in 2008 titled History 1. The band split again in 2010. Footnote: guitarist Ross Robinson is the same Ross Robinson who became a well-known producer, having produced such acts as Korn, Sepultura, Fear Factory, Machine Head, among others. Footnote: Dawn Crosby would die of acute liver failure at age 33 December 15, 1996. Dashboard for Detente
