Blood Covenant (2005-present): a Unblack Metal band from Chennai, India.

C

onsidered one of the pioneers of metal in South India, Blood Covenant, from Chennai formed in 2005, the band was a major force in the death metal, thrash metal and christian metal genres in India starting from the late 1990s with vocalist vocalist Eddie's earlier bands like Bonesaw. Their later experiments were influenced more by black metal. In 2005 when the band formally formed and eventually settled on the membership of Eddie "Ed Bull" Prithviraj (vocals), Sibi Boycott "Thorn" Walter (bass), Ronald "Slaughter" Nathanael (guitars, backing vocals) and Brijesh "Hurricane" Sereno (drums) to produce a mix of Swedish death metal and Brazilian thrash metal forming into Blood Covenant's own thrash/death style. So far the act has only performed live but are working on their first recording featuring lyrics centering on the New Testament of the Bible.


Footnote: Do not confuse the act with the Armenian one of the same name.
