A.C.O.A.
F
ormed in 1997 in London, Ontario, Canada A.C.O.A. (Adult Children of Alcoholics) combined old school speed metal with south California punk and set forth to "explode all over the faces of popular culture" with influences from mostly heave metal acts like Slayer, D.R.I., Suicidal Tendencies, Anthrax and Sepultura. With original founding members Justin Holmes (guitar), Rob Moore (drums), Derik Gates (vocals) and the soon-after addition of Dave Roberts (guitar) and Kristoph Dietz (bass) they would enjoy a steady exposure in their chosen genre. With the help of exposure at such local venues of Call the Office, The Embassy, CHRW (radio) their self-promoted, self-directed DIY style and name would become splattered all over the local area.
As of 2002 they are mostly undiscovered in a wider audience but made a valiant effort of trying to fix that little problem with the release of their debut album Life Lessons Learned Too Late (2002) and a live one-track demo recorded at Call The Office bar titled Live At Call The Office (2002).
In 2002 the act broke up and reformed with the membership of Pat Dwyer (bass; ex-Sacrament A.D./ex-Devastator/ex-Oberon), Justin Holmes (guitars/Back. vocals; ex-A.C.O.A.), Yasmina (vocals; of Interstate 69/Night of the Demons), Sean Westerman (drums; ex-Thunderbitchin) as Nothing Left for Tomorrow to release The Deafening Sounds of Metal Demo (2003), Of What Once Was... EP (2006), Nightbreed (2010) and Howl EP (2015).
