S.C.A.L.P. (1991-present) is a Death Metal band from Russian Federation.
hree students at the Orel Machine-building technical school formed the group called S.C.A.L.P. near the end of 1991, and by December, 28. the band performed their first concert at the assembly hall of the school.
S.C.A.L.P. recorded their first demo tape in August 1994, called Madness Cannibalism of the style a mixture of heavy death metal and grind core. But there were some melodic insertions which became typical of the band. The mini demo C.I.A. followed, consisting of two Madness Cannibalism b-sides and cover versions of Napalm Death's Scum and Bad Religion's The American Jesus.
In 1995 the group recorded another demo tape, Memory, in a melodic death/doom metal style; this work proving to be a more serious and intelligent effort. The song What For? in 1996 was released on the Thrash Your Mother vol.4. (compilation of young metal bands).
The first serious studio work was made in 1997 on Through Eternity. Featuring a mixture of various styles of modern heavy music including death /doom metal metal and other 'hard'n'heavy' styles, the disc received fair reviews. In autumn 1998 the band took part in a the Baltic Thunder festival in Minsk.

In the summer 1999 the group recorded the second studio album, Tears And Blood. During the work, Evgeny Ryzhenok left. S.C.A.L.P. remained without a bassist for some time. What was worse was that the vocals slot was also empty. This period in a history of the group is marked by a constant change of bass guitarists, and search for a vocalist. The problem persisted until 2001 and left their new album languishing without proper support.
The band would finally re-emerge in the spring 2003 with the arrival of the single I'm Paralyzed - The Last and supporting video.
The next album, Tears And Blood, was finally released in 2004 by Russian label 'Metalism' with the band line-up of, Pavel Peristy (guitars/vocals), Evgeny Semenov (bass) and Alexey Kuznetsov (drums).
In 2007 'BadMoodMan Music' released a compilation on the band first 3 demos called In Memory Of Madness - The Early Years 1994-1995.
