EkserBiography/HistoryEkser (2003-2004, 2005-present): a Thrash Metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, USA. T he origins of Ekser trace back as early as 2003. Originally just a project idea of Nick Radlovic the band's first inception was originally under the name Inflicted. Though short lived, some of the riffs written during that time showed promising musical work from a band yet to be born. Ekser came into partial formation in July of 2003. With drummer Welsey Kelly (ex-Audio Front) supplying the beats and Kyle Brandstatter strengthening the guitar department two months later. By October, however, things rapidly deteriorated and Ekser was in search for a new drummer and still in search for a bassist as well. The bass position was filled shortly after Wesley Kelly's departure with the addition of Dave Winkler (ex-Mercitron). By January 2004 Ekser completed its line up with Jason Meador on drums. However, this lineup also proved fragile and Ekser was in search for a new bassist and drummer once again. Additional line up changes followed through-out most of 2004 until ultimately leading to Ekser's disbanding in July of that year. Months passed with Nick comprising new material. Some of the riffs which were slowly composed would appear on the band's 2005 self-titled Ekser demo. Hope resurfaced with the return of Kyle Brandstatter on guitar in April 2005 and a brand new lineup with Vince Handrick (ex-Shattered Sky) on drums, and Lane Lariviere (ex-Kilk) on bass. In the following year Ekser was merciless, essentially a fine tuned machine they rehearsed between 4 and 5 days a week, to result in the aforementioned self-titled demo in August 2005. However with change came a new revitalized band which went into the studio a month later and recorded their latest offering entitled The Obliteration Process, a 7" EP in 2006 using their influences of Lamb of God, Necrophagist, Decapitated, Dying Fetus, Theory in Practice, The Forsaken, Opeth, Shadows Fall, and The Black Dahlia Murder. Footnote: Do not confuse this band with the one from Quebec City, Canada who released three demos and changed their name to Escarre. See Less... ⏫ Dashboard for Ekser
