Biography

Headless Cross (2001-2007): a Thrash Metal band from Birmingham, UK.

M

idlands, UK based Headless Cross started life in 2002 when guitarist Dave Silver broke free from previous band commitments to start his own band. The band set about writing material and playing gigs. After nearly a year and a half the band finally found the right line-up and direction, and began gigging heavily all over the country. On the circulation of the band's first proper demo Crown Of Thorns, the band received a positive response, being compared to Judas Priest, Metallica, Atrophy, Gammacide and a whole host of great heavy metal bands from the 80s heydays.

In July 2005 the band started work on their up-coming E.P. entitled Burning Sanctuary, with producer engineer Mark Stuart (Marshall Law, Xentrix, Magnum). Intended to showcase the diversity of the bands sound, going from fast and aggressive one minute, to quite and reflective the next.

The band were lucky enough to take part in the first ever Dominion Festival next to bands such as Skyclad, Human Fortress, Deliverance and Conquest of Steel.

As a result of the membership departures, the act was ended in 2007. Silver would go on to form Savage Massiah.
