Beyond Within (2002-present): a Death Metal band from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

ormed in the spring of 2002, Beyond Within was started by founding members Chris Finlay (guitars) and Paul Larochelle (drums). After customary line-up changes, the band settled on the remaining members of: Todd Pidgeon (vocals), Dave St-Louis (guitars/bass) and Pat Malette (guitar). The act then worked relentlessly for the next three years sculpting and perfecting their unique sound, which could be somewhat described as European-influenced melodic death/thrash.

Beyond Within played over 100 live shows, sharing the stage with notable acts such as: Cryptopsy, Behemoth, Decapitated, Kataklysm, Skinless, All That Remains, 3 Inches of Blood, Throwdown, Necronomicon, Neuraxis, Quo Vadis, Beneath the Massacre, The End, Ion Dissonance, Winter Solstice, Misery Index, Despised Icon and Anvil.

2003 would see the arrival of their debut Belligerence. Evil Minds (2005), Endless Torture EP (2005) and Eternal Pestilence (2006) would follow. Although the 2006 line-up would feature Chris Finlay (guitars/bass), Todd Pidgeon (vocals), Paul Larochelle (drums), Dave St-Louis (guitars/bass) and Darren Favot (bass/keyboards) the line-up wouldn't last with so many bass players, for all but Finlay and Pidgeon would soon after be gone with only Trevor Godin assuming bass.
