Place Of SkullsBiographyPlace Of Skulls (2000-2005, 2005-present): a Doom Metal band from Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. E ight years after guitarist Victor Griffin left Pentagram (USA), he emerged in 2000 with a new band, Place Of Skulls, reuniting with bassist Lee Abney, the pair having played together years earlier in Deathrow. They delivered solid doom metal as one might expect, while lyrically the band focused on a more spiritual attitude due to Griffin's new found beliefs in Christianity. Tim Tomaselli then joined on drums. By 2003 the band was joined by the former The Obsessed guitarist Scott "Wino" Weinrich. "Wino" appeared on the band's second album, With Vision, but soon after left to focus on his new band, The Hidden Hand. Another noted doom personality, Revelation guitarist Dennis Cornelius, joined soon after to now play bass, taking over from Lee Abney. After announcing a break-up in January 2005, they had a change of heart a couple of months later. Weinrich then also left to concentrate on The Hidden Hand. The band discography would consist of Nailed (2001), With Vision (2003; before which Abney left), Love Through Blood EP (2005), The Black is Never Far (2006), As a Dog Returns (2010) and In-Graved. (2016). By 2016 the membership was Victor Griffin (vocals/guitar), Lee Abney (bass) and "Minnesota" Pete Campbell (drums). Dashboard for Place Of Skulls
