10 Years

10 Years (1999-present): a Progressive Metal band from Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.

ased in Knoxville, Tennessee, 10 Years formed as an alternative hard rock band in 1999 that evolved into more of a progressive metal act under the membership of Mike Underdown (vocals), Brian Vodinh (drums), Ryan "Tater" Johnson (guitars), Matt Wantland (guitars) and Lewis Cosby (bass). By 2001, Cosby had and Andy Parks was brought in to handle bass. The independently released Into the Half Moon followed later that same year.

Mike Underdown left in 2002 to pursue a career in acting and start a new band, Courage, You Bastards, out of Los Angeles. Jesse Hasek would replace him. Later that same year Parks would part ways with the band, with Cosby returning. Sporting everything from long hair to mohawks, the act managed to create a strong underground following with their independent release Killing All That Holds You (2004).

In 2005, 10 Years signed with 'Republic/Universal Records' and entered the studio to release their debut album The Autumn Effect. Over the following year, 10 Years opened for Velvet Revolver, Static X and Korn to quickly build interest.

In mid-February 2006, the track Wasteland reached 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and eventually went Gold certified when released as a single.

On March 2006, an EP was released on iTunes with acoustic versions of Wasteland, Prey, Through The Iris and Faultline from The Autumn Effect album.

Division (2007) would follow after a year of recording. In December 2009, Matt Wantland left to pursue other interests. Feeding the Wolves (2009) followed. Minus the Machine (2012), was on the band's own label, 'Palehorse Records'. The label, however, was not as independent as one would believe since, as the band stated, it was a part of Warner Music Group's "Independent Label Group".

Ryan Collier would replace Lewis Cosby, who took time off to prepare for the birth of his first child.

From Birth to Burial (2015) would follow. The next year, 'Mascot Label Group' would sign the band to release (How to Live) as Ghosts (2017).

Chad Grennor joined 10 Years as the new bassist in 2018, while Luke Narey took over drums.
