FleuretyBiographyFleurety (1991-present): a Black Metal band from Ytre Enebakk, Viken, Norway. F ollowing their formation in December 1991, Fleurety, under the membership of Svein Egil Hatlevik (a.k.a. Magic Logic/a.k.a.Zweizz; drums/synthesizer/vocals) and Alexander Nordgaren (guitar/bass), set the tone with their first demo, Black Snow two years later; a recording that managed to offend the entire Norwegian black metal clique with what was apparently deemed unreasonably high-pitched vocals. Typically unabated by the controversy, salt was added to the wound in the autumn of 1994 with the release of the blatantly titled A Darker Shade of Evil, a 7" EP that was essentially a re-run of the demo, except with improved production. Initially Nordgaren was the lead vocalist, but his performance on early recordings, specifically on A Darker Shade of Evil, permanently damaged his vocal cords, so Hatlevik took over lead vocals onwards. In the Summer of 1995 'Misanthropy Records', in cooperation with 'Aesthetic Death Records', released the band's debut album, Min Tid Skal Komme, this time to be met with critical acclaim on account of the avant-garde nature of the music. A long break then ensued for many reasons, the most obvious being that the various members engaged themselves with other musical projects: Nordgaren spent time on his solo project I Left The Planet and played live guitar with Mayhem, while Hatlevik recorded an album with the Industrial/Noise outfit Aphrodisiac (on 'Misanthropy Records'' sub label, 'Elfenblut') and joined Dødheimsgard. The first recording session included vocalist Ayna Johansen and saxophone player Mari Solberg, and resulted in a song called Vortex and led to a deal with 'Supernal Music'. The other two songs were recorded with the aid of vocalist Karianne Horn and saxophone player Mari Solberg. In the summer of 1998, Fleurety recorded their second full-length album, Department of Apocalyptic Affairs, assisted by a number of friends and acquaintances in the form of: Einar Sjursø (of Beyond Dawn), Carl Michael (of Aura Noir, Maniac and Hellhammer), Sverd (of Arcturus), Garm (of Ulver), Carl August Tideman (of Arcturus/of Tritonus), Knut (of Ulver and Arcturus), and vocalist Vilde of the dark punk/Electro act Magenta, along with the bass player of the Norwegian pop/rock act Ephemera, Karianne Horn and Mari Solberg (as on the current mini-CD), and two other singers. After a long hiatus, a set of EPs arrived next, once again under the membership of Svein Egil Hatlevik (vocals/Bypasser/Songwriting/Lyrics) and Alexander Nordgaren (guitars/songwriting/lyrics) with guest musicians in the form of Ingentes Atque Decorii Vexilliferi Apokalypsis (2009), Evoco Bestias (2011), Et Spiritus Meus Semper Sub Sanguinantibus Stellis Habitabit (2013) and Fragmenta Cuinsvis Aetatis Contemporaneae (2017), the next full length, The White Death (2017) followed under the same reduced membership.
