XYZ-ABiographyXYZ-A (1999-present): a Glam Metal band from Tokyo, Japan. L aunched in Japan in 1999 as the Japanese answer to the booming market for imported Western music. X.Y.Z. To A's music, although less than modern Western standard, was nevertheless an example of Japan's determination to learn and master rock music and add it to their long list of exports, including VCR's, Cameras, Cars, etc. Their first single, Don't Let The Sun Go Down, and album Asian Typhoon, was released at the end of that year. A Maxi-Single, Miracle, and biography video, Early Days, followed it soon after in 2000. In November that year their sophomore album, Metalization, was released as well as English versions of both albums. Metalization continued with X.Y.Z. To A's basic 1980s pop Glam style of music with mediocre production; they were nonetheless showing improvement with each subsequent effort. The group also engaged on an ill advised 100 Gigs World Tour, which was their attempt to play 100 Gigs by the end of the century.
