laying metal music with black and folk influences Karelian Warcry started in the Finnish town of Kouvolaas as a trio in 2002 when Sami Ukkonen (bass), Matti Mikkonen (guitars/vocals) and Anttipekka "Grontti" Heiskanen (drums) founded the band. Jussi Kousa (a.k.a. 'R.M') joined soon after, in the summer of 2003. About half a year later, Ukkonen left to concentrate on his own Eyescream act so Henrik "Piispa" Järvinen took over the bass. They would release their demo in 2004. Their records proper, Kylmä rautainen (2005) and Verinen taival, päättymätön tie (2010) would then follow but they have been silent since. Mikkonen would die in 2014.
