Infernal Dominion (1999-2005, 2012-present): a Death Metal band from Houston, Texas, USA.
n the winter of 1998 US black metal band Imprecation saw its demise. The core members disappeared into different genres of extreme Metal to eventually reform as Immortal Dominion. The membership vied for positions when drummer Ruben Elizondro left to form another band, leaving guitarists Wes Weaver and Jim Case to recruit drummer Dobber from Viral Load and within weeks, several blasphemous compositions were ready for Texas label 'Corpse Gristle Records' (now 'TXDM Underground').
After months of exhausting try-outs and everyday drama, personal commitments forced Case to endure a recess from the group, so bassist Chance Allen and vocalist Mike Swearingen stepped in and temporarily replaced him with local guitarist Steve Rios. Being a stable band finally, they vigorously hammered out 8 songs which were soon recorded in the studio, Salvation Through Infinite Suffering was crafted and, after a lengthy delay, released in June of 2001. With their debut album, Infernal Dominion sought not to only decimate the senses of those who would listen, but also to appeal intellectually and respectfully to all who question the ignorance of ancient and modern religious mythology. To their success, many death metal zealots over the world quoted them as being a true testament to the integrity of satanic music.
