Axis (1979-1984, 1989-present): a Hard Rock band from San Francisco, California, USA.

F

ormed by ex-Derringer duo Danny Johnson (guitar/vocals) and Vinnie Appice (drums) this USA Power-trio (featuring the addition of bassist Jay Davis) recorded It's A Circus World in 1978, an album that drew from the early 1970s for its inspiration. The band dissolved soon after. Appice then joined Black Sabbth and later Dio, while Johnson replaced Steve Vai in Alcatrazz before joining Davis again in Private Life.
