orld Trade was started in the late 1980s as a studio act under the guidance of Billy Sherwood (vocals/bass), Bruce Cowdy (guitar), Guy Allison (keyboards), Mark T. Williams (drums). A one-off self-titled album would represent the band in 1990 on 'Polydor' characterized by Sherwood's Jon Anderson-like vocal style backed by a synthesizer pomp style that drew comparisons to Yes (Sherwood was apparently invited to join Yes at one point). The act collapsed shortly later, however, when Sherwood made an attempt at going solo.
