Headhunter (1990-1996, 2007-present): a Power Metal band from Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

T

he act Headhunter was the band formed by bassist Schmier (Real Name: Marcel Schirmer) following his departure from Destruction (Germany). The band actually started in 1989 under the name Curse, but 1990 saw their formal formation.

Along with Uwe "Schmuddel" Hoffmann (guitars/backing vocals) and Jörg Michael (ex-Grave Digger/ex-Running Wild; drums), Headhunter would debut with Parody of Life (1990) under a thrash metal like banner. It was fallowed up with Another Bizarre Gardening Accident (1992), a title that spoofed the explanations for the missing drummers in Spinal Tap even if the sound inside bared no resemblance to the comic band.

Their last set was Rebirth (1994) before Schmier went back to Destruction (Germany). The act would reform in 2007 to release Parasite of Society (2008).
