fter the century, Bludgeon, featuring the membership of Mark Duca (vocals/guitar), Carlos Alvarez (guitar), Eric Karol (bass) and Matt Dezynski (drums), got a lot of press mostly due to being discovered by Manowar's Joey DeMaio, who not only got them the first ever deal on his own 'Magic Circle' label, but also produced their debut album, Crucify The Beast (2002). Despite all the connections with Manowar the band's debut had nothing to do with Manowar's style, leaning more into a heavy Death like thrash metal style featuring little variety.
