Lordes Werre (1993-present) is a Thrash Metal band from Chicago, Illinois, USA.
he band that would become Lordes Werre was conceived of back in 1993 by brothers Ben Elliot (drums/bass) and Rob Elliot (guitar/vocals). 1994 would see their demo The Dark Ascension released, with Canticles of Armageddon following two years later. Ex-Nasty Savage members Ben Meyer (guitar) and James "Hellstorm" Garber (bass) would join to complete the ensemble for the release of their debut album Demon Crusades (1999) on Stan Koson's 'R.I.P.' label.
The album was a typical late '80's style Thrash recording featuring heavy double peddling, growling or shouting vocals with calls to Satan and other demonic entities. Demon Crusades, however, was not a cakewalk to record due to problems within the band ranks, most specifically vocalist Rob Elliot's legal matters. Elliot was arrested and imprisoned for several months because of a church he vandalized, and the attempted rape of a young girl who happened to be Christian in faith. Such activities also got him the evil eye from Christian advocacy groups, not to mention the local constabulary. In his absence the band managed to record a one-off track Thrashing Holocaust for an 'Osmose' compilation in Europe. They also found a replacement for Elliot in the form of Scott Carroll from Chicago band Cianide. Carroll was not a full time singer but proved that he was up for the job. Their debut album has thus far been their only significant accomplishment.
