Killer Khan (1997-2001, 2015- ) is a Heavy Metal band from Moorsevile, North Carolina, USA.
iller Khan was created in November 1997 in Moorsville, North Carolina by singer/songwriter Killian Khan (vocals/guitars). The act originally formed under the name Holy Moses to release two albums before returning as Killer Khan.
Kill Devil Hills, Killer Khan's debut was released in 1999, a disc remarkably like Black Sabbath during the Ozzy era, complete with hints of Judas Priest and Dio, with Killian Khan's voice sounding strikingly similar to Ozzy Osbourne during his early solo years; the result was solid uncomplicated no-frills heavy metal. In fact, Killer Khan was so mid-80's in style, it made one wonder if the band had been sleeping in a cave. But regardless of their stylistic leanings Killer Khan had managed to avoid sounding dated or stale. The line-up on the album was rounded out by Paul Arntz (bass), Jeff Ausdemore (drums) and Richard Downs (guitars).
Two further self-financed releases would appear. Rock N' Roll Forever (2001) featuring Drake Osborne on bass would be first, but in reality is was simply a re-badged version of the album of the same name, complete track listing, membership and cover artwork as the original when they were naming themselves Holy Moses.
On the next release, it appears as though a total reformation would occur because Khan returned with Global Killer (2016) with members Brice Sandahl (bass), Jody Rumple (drums) and Ron Dalton (guitars (lead)) in tow.
Footnote: Not sure if the album Kill Devil Hills was named after the North Carolina coastal town of the same name.
