Galactic CowboysBiographyGalactic Cowboys (1989-2000, 2009, 2013, 2016-present): a Heavy Metal band from Houston, Texas, USA. T he band was founded by vocalist Ben Huggins and guitarist Dane Sonnier from the ashes of their former act, Awful Truth, who eventually teamed up with bassist Monty Colvin and drummer Alan Doss (the latter two being ex-Awful Truth). After signing to 'Geffen' in 1991, Galactic Cowboys would release their acclaimed eponymous debut. Galactic Cowboys were similar in style to King's X, and sharing a similar spiritual/Christian outlook, but mixing more blues and melodic grunge. The album was also the debut for Jerry Gaskill (ex-King's X) replacing Doss. The band then split afterward amicably with the members pursuing other interests. 17 years later (other than two temporary get-togethers) the band reunited under the membership of Ben Huggins (vocals/guitar), Dane Sonnier (vocals/guitars), Monty Colvin (vocals/bass) and Alan Doss (vocals/drums) the release Long Way Back to the Moon (2017).
