Long Winters' StareBiographyLong Winters' Stare (1997-2000): a Doom Metal band from Cranston, Rhode Island, USA. S tarting in 1998 the atmospheric doom/goth metal band Long Winters' Stare, consisting of Greg Ball (drums/bass/keyboards), Clint Listing (vocals/guitars) and Jason Mills (drums) for a time, Long Winter's Stare released their Cold Tale Eternal EP (1998) premier opus in a style they dubbed "symphonic experimental dark metal". From this, the world was introduced to their formula of mixing death metal with progressive and classical music influences incorporating string passages, keyboard, guitar and piano. They also threw in death metal type growls with spoken verse and operatic high notes; the net result became deep punk overtones and a unique experience to the listener. But it would be Before the Dawn, So Go the Shadows of Humanity Unmastered Final Mixes (1998) that would see them on 'Dragon Flight Recordings', an upstart indie label out of Rhode Island USA; national exposure followed. But just as they were on the climb they announced their split after the release of The Tears of Odin's Fallen (2000) featuring Deirdra Faith added on vocals. Dashboard for Long Winters' Stare
